42nd Annual Spring Home Show: Better Living Expo

Each year, I attend the annual Spring Home Show hosted by the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Va. Today, hundreds of vendors were set up to showcase products and services for home improvement. On a mission to discover products and services that help seniors remain at home, I ran into three top-notch companies that provide aging-in-place products and services.

You know, as we age things that used to be readily accessible, is no longer. It becomes more difficult to reach for and strongly grip dishes and utensils from wall-mounted cabinets. We are more prone to falls in unsafe showers and tubs. We might even require home modifications to effectively navigate our homes. These companies that I research a bit further are: 3 Day Kitchens & Bath, ReBath, and Ronnie’s Vinyl Siding.

3 Day Kitchens & Bath is a certified age-in-place company. They have the  technical, managerial, and customer service skills essential to providing exceptional service to customers seeking home modifications for aging-in-place.  They utilize powerful computer aided design tools to design your custom kitchen and bathroom so accurately that you will be able to clearly see all of the details of your new dream kitchen or bathroom. You can design cabinet spaces within acceptable reach, and bathrooms that are easier to navigate. They offer guaranteed satisfaction. If you are unsatified with the work, they will do everything it takes to meet your demands. If you are still unsatisfied, they will issue a refund. You have nothing to lose and as an added bonus, the remodeling is only expected to take three days!

I had the pleasure of meeting Andy Jackson of ReBath. His company focuses exclusively on installing  showers  over your existing bathroom features. DuraBath bathtubs fit over existing cast iron or pressed steel bathtubs. Wall Surround Systems cover existing wall surfaces. ReBath manufactures Shower Bases to fit any style shower base. Shower bases contain BathGuard surface, and is  resistant to mildew and bacteria. BathGuard lessens the likelihood of slipping while in the shower.  Mildew and bacteria resistant surfaces  prevent worsening existing health conditions for those with weakened immune systems.  Rebath provides showers that are wheelchair accessible and that contains selves, doors, fixtures, shower seats, and grab bars.  Makeovers are quick as they are typically installed within one day!

Another way to remain home is to provide accessibility options make your home easier to navigate.  I met, Ronnie, Whorley, owner of Ronnie’s Vinyl Siding. His local small-business specializes in exterior home improvement.  His company installs siding, windows, home additions, doors, ramps and decks. They have a dynamic portfolio of outstanding work completed for seniors living at home, as well as commercial projects. Whorley is dedicated to his clients and always looks for ways to save them money on their projects. Keeping your home looking immaculate is hard work, and this company works to make sure you are satisfied.

Out of the many vendors I met, these three companies are at the top of the list in terms of age-in-place products and services. I urge you to check them out and give them a call should you you have a problem you they can solve! Below you will find their contact information and a link to their website!
